Internet Radio Shows

Rockcast – Nice radio show hosted by Big Al in Houston Texas. Great choices in playlist of mostly guitar driven rock tunes. Every ‘cast has at least one pleasant surprise!

Garagepunk.com – This site is friggen’ HUGE! A collective of many podcasts in one place, centered around punk (real punk, not the crap on modern radio), surf music and serious indie music. There’s a deep archive of shows going back to 2005, so there’s lots and lots of stuff to listen to. If you like this genre, you might never leave the site!

The SoupyGato Show – A show that crosses over just about all genres and touches on all styles. Music comes from unsigned or indie artists, and SoupyG makes great choices on what you play. Also, they take submissions from bands for their broadcast, so bands and artists check this one out!

Monochrome Museum – Hosted by Moll and John, good music that you’ve probably never heard before (indie artists, but worth the listen!).  They even have a new feature featuring videos of indie bands, in addition to their regular ‘cast…a great idea I hope they continue with.

Jim’s Child of the 60’s – Loads of classic rock (among other things), with a deep archive of shows (90 and counting) makes for some great listening. This is the way ‘classic rock’ radio should be…a very varied playlist, not the same 50 tracks over and over again. Well worth the listen.

Radio Free Wohlman – A fantastic ‘cast, offering up a little bit of everything; funk, rock, jazz, and more. You’re sure to  find something you like and get  turned on to something you’ve never heard before. an A+ 'cast which has quickly become one of my favorites.

Bear 67 Radio Mix – Mostly country and country oriented rock with dashes of other stuff, this Canadian broadcast has a lot of interesting stuff to check out. Country usually isn’t my bag (at least not the newer stuff), but I dig enough of what he’s dishing out to keep checking back. (note: there’s a player that starts automatically when you hit the site, so watch your volume before you visit)

Band Sites

John Crumley – Well, ok, it’s music that I make…rock music , for the most part, crossing a few different genres. Check it out and let me know if yer diggin’ it!

S.O.V.I (Sites of Varied Interest)

Echoes: A Visual History of America - An excellent site chock full of vintage photographs and video clips from days gone by. There’s also some music from the earliest days of sound recording to the 30’s. Also, there’s a neat little shop full of goodies.
